Vendetta Racing has been privileged to tick off some of motorsport’s most iconic bucket list challenges. Our journey includes two runs on the legendary Isle of Man TT course, three Dakar Rally campaigns, multiple off-road world championships, and countless national-level circuit races.

Racing on the historic Bonneville Salt Flats is a natural extension of these achievements, made even more compelling by the pursuit of a world record on one of motorsport’s most revered stages.

In 2024 and 2025, we competed at the World of Speed event, hosted by USFRA under SCTA regulations. Campaigning a turbocharged Ducati-powered engine in a bespoke chassis, we came tantalisingly close to the current SCTA record. We even qualified to surpass it, but an overstressed Ducati powerplant ultimately cut our run short.

Looking ahead, preparations for 2027 are already well underway. Fabrication has begun on an all-new, significantly improved machine, this time driven by a turbocharged 1000cc Suzuki engine.

The objective is clear: claim the record and earn a place in the exclusive 200 mph club.

Land-speed trials are all about going faster than anyone has gone before on a mile-long course over perfectly level terrain at Bonneville Salt Flats. Classes are determined by engine displacement, modification levels and various degrees of streamlining, and encompass everything from small-displacement racers to high-powered, custom-built streamliners made for the sole purpose of topping 500 mph.

Some classes are more serious than others, with participants ranging from weekend enthusiasts chasing double-digit mph speed records on small-bore motorcycles to professional race teams fielding million-dollar engineering masterworks.

The World of Speed event, organised by the Utah Salt Flats Racing Association is run under the SCTA regulations for both cars and motorcycles.
